Everything. Sometimes the simplest thing can give me lots of ideas for stories. Other times someone will tell me something about themselves and my imagination runs with it.
What genres do you typically read?
I read all sorts of books. Lately I've been reading a lot of music autobiographies. I've found some great inspiration from their stories.
What is your writing day like? I have a toddler so I write whenever I get the chance. Usually during naps or bedtime, but sometimes during the weekend when my husband can keep him company. I keep my iPhone nearby so when if I get some extra time I can quickly get some writing done.
Tell us about your new release:
Lucky Break is the story about a sheltered girl, Olivia "Lucky" Saldano who gets a record deal and then finds her rock star idol is going on tour with her.
How did you come up with your hero?
Jude Morrison's personality is my interpretation of some of the rock memoirs I've read such as Pete Townshend and Anthony Kiedis. The only thing they directly have in common with Jude though is they're all songwriters which I find very sexy. Jude's appearance and mannerisms were inspired by a combination of several other men though.
I think what makes Jude special is that he's very aware of who he is and his power over women. He knows what he's done in the past by rushing into things and thinking he was in love, and doesn't want to repeat that. I also love that despite how much he wants Lucky, he feels she needs to experience life first and tries to push her to do that.

Suddenly Lucky felt a kick from under the table and turned to Jordan in surprise. "What is it?" She saw a stunned expression on her friend's face and followed her gaze to the doorway. Lucky's jaw dropped as her heart flipped inside her chest.
Standing at the entrance of the dining room was a rock god. He stood tall, in a pair of dark jeans and a long sleeve tan distressed tee shirt with the remnants of an eagle stretched across his muscular chest. His short choppy brown hair looked like he just rolled out of bed. To Lucky this wasn't just any rock god, Jude Morrison was the rock god.
As Jude took off his sunglasses, he entered the room and went over to Richard Black who sat alone at a table by the door. Lucky couldn't take her eyes off him. She wasn't the only one. All eyes were on him. No one uttered a word while they wondered why such a famous drummer was in their midst.
Even if you didn't recognize him, you knew he was a rock star. He embodied it. Jude Morrison wasn't just any rock star though, he was the drummer to Silverlight, the biggest band of the last generation.
A waitress ran up to him, her hands flapping excitedly as she spoke.
"Oh. My. Gawd! It's you! I absolutely love you. Can you sign something for me?"
She handed him a marker and opened her blouse for him to sign her breasts. When he was done, the waitress reached up and kissed him. He responded by dipping her dramatically, giving her a quick peck, and then letting her go.
"Holy shit! That's Jude Morrison," Kat whispered.
